History of the villa Olive Grove in Paxos
The house is one of the oldest master house in Paxos. It was built at the end of the XIX century in the traditional way and is a typical stone house of Paxos. It faces on one side the sea which is quite rare (as the Paxos people have always considered rightly that it damages their houses) and the olive trees as it is situated top of a hill.
You enjoy a panoramic view of the Ionian Sea and the cut coast of mainland Greece and relax in the calm among the olive trees.
Only a few minutes drive from the beaches or from Loggos, unless you prefer to go by walk among olive trees and cypresses, Olive Grove is ideally located.
Nestled in the middle of olive trees, in an estate surrounded by walls, the garden and its private swimming pool offer you the prospect of exceptional and exclusive moments. Rare in Paxos, this old mansion has reached our days in perfect condition. With its elegant proportions, exposed stone walls or whitewashed walls and traditional wooden floors, the house has all the charm of a traditional Ionian house.
A Traditional House with modern comfort
The house has been fully renovated and every year we plan new houseworks in order to optimize the house and its comfort for our guests. The latest works include the renovation of the living room with a new roof and a “cathedral” ceiling giving a very elegant flair to the house. The house is big and can accomodate up to 2 families or 3 to 4 couples. It is 200M2 with 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms : a double and a twin bedroom leading off the living room and a breakfast area just off to the side. There is also an extra shower around the pool where it is very nice specifically in the summer. Steps lead down into the stone flagged floor of the kitchen and down again to the main bathroom, a double bedroom with an en suite shower room and a twin bedroom.

The villa has traditionally thick walls built out of local stone ensuring the house is cool inside even during the height of summer. For more comfort most of the bedrooms are air-conditionned. There are now 2 big hyper-silence ceiling fans in the living room for the best comfort during the hottest days of the year. 2 bedrooms, which have also air-contionning, are equipped with 2 ceiling hyper-silence fans for the best feeling. It is surrounded by olive trees which provide an abundance of natural shade around the large stoned terrace. The spacious living room is positioned facing directly out to sea, which is partially visible through the silvery green leaves of the olive trees. The garden offers different terraces and places to relax with a large outdoor private swimming pool facing the Ionian see (10*5 meters).
Detailed description of Olive Grove House in Paxos
You enjoy a large traditional house, equipped with all modern facilities. You benefit from a vast living room bathed by the light of its 5 openings, which overlook the olive trees and even the sea, as well as the kitchen and the dining area, also full of charm.
Thanks to the thick stone walls, the house is always cool. To provide optimal comfort, most bedrooms have even been air-conditioned and we have added silent-ceiling fans in the living room and in the 2 upper bedrooms.
The 4 bedrooms of the villa comfortably accommodate up to 9 people: A double bedroom and a double/twin bedroom overlook the living room and the breakfast room next door. A few steps lead down into the stone kitchen floor and down to the main bathroom, a double bedroom with an en-suite bathroom and a twin bedroom with an extra available bed.
The house opens on a vast terrace where the numerous olive trees of the garden bring a natural shade.

Olive Grove House near the best beaches and ports on Paxos island
The house is based in the village of Zernatika which is uphill above Loggos in one of the nicest part of the island of Paxos where the sea is always near (the island is only 25 km2). The house is situated in a very quiet area but where you will not be isolated as there are nearby little shops, small restaurants and other villas. We advise you to have your own car. You can find a nice restaurant at 500m from the house with an incredible sea view terrace. There is in Fontana a bakery, a small supermarket which can be useful for last minute shopping and 2 tavernas with one open all year round. The beaches of Marmari, Kipos, Kipiadi, Alati and Levrechio are all reachable on footpaths 15 to 25 minutes walking and 5 minutes drive.
Things to do near Olive Grove
Paxos is only 25 km2 so everything is very near which makes it unique in the mediterranean. Nevertheless when you feel good in your house, you tend to relax at home and nearby. There are many beaches around the house and around the island. The port of Loggos is 5 minutes drive or 20 minutes walk. The nearest village is Fontana around 10 minutes walk. There are many footpaths around the island and it feels wonderful at any season to walk on these footpaths from where you can always see the sea. You can also rent a boat, a kayak or a paddle for more active experiences on the sea. We have invested also in e-bikes that you can rent during your stay. It is a great way to discover the island. You will also find a table tennis table near the pool that you can use with your family and friends.
